Eduardo Kac

Eduardo Kac is a Brazilian artist internationally renowned for his interactive installations on the Net and his bio-art practice, notably for the invention of the transgenic Alba rabbit. A pioneer of pre-Internet telecommunications art in the ’80s, Eduardo Kac gained recognition in the early ’90s for his radical works in the field of telepresence, and his intense practice combining art and technology. Prior to this, Eduardo Kac devoted himself to a poetic and performative production that rejected the paper medium and was conceived for the body in action in the city and orality, celebrating freedom in the face of Brazilian military repression.
