¡ América latina : Arte-acción !
Friday April 11, 2008 – 20h30
Maison Populaire, Montreuil
Vis-a-vis the formidable profusion of artistic proposals resulting from the Latin-American continent, we wished to devote one second meeting to the Latin America of the years 2000, become one of the most important political laboratories of our time, in the power of its fights anti-globalisation, its aspirations with cultural and economic autonomy, its feminist strategies of resistance.
These proposals take root in a very strong tradition of art-action, and vidéoperformances to intrinsic political dimension, where the body is considered like place of confrontation and negotiation.
Fall under this filiation the visceral work of performeuse and the activist cultural Mexican Lorena Wolffer around assassinated of Ciudad Juarez or the poetic reflexion of the Guatemalan artist Sandra Monterroso who interlaces the reasons of the tradition, the cultural identity, and the kind.
The famous Bolivian feminist group, Mujeres creando, collective multitude of women in rebellion, has carried out for fifteen years, an enthralling development between urban, critical intervention radical, irrepressible Utopia, celebration ostentation and to tighten body, pleasure, daily newspaper, powers of the imaginary one. Their “actions” or performances of street draw a single ethical posture in its kind of agitatrices, “neither intellectual nor artists”, fights about it against patriarchal oppressions, the colonial diagrams, the neoliberal policies.
