“How can we think today about the art ecosystem and the threats to its autonomy?
The artists, activists, professionals, and researchers gathered here trace the trajectory of the ecological, economic, institutional, and social changes brought about by the industrialization of culture and art. Starting from a philosophical approach that extends to critical theory and cultural studies, this book engages in a contemporary epistemology capable of deconstructing the hegemonic form of the art world and proposing a new map. It questions the possible futures of art in relation to aspirations for a decolonized and degrowth-oriented world that is pluralistic, inclusive, decentralized, and egalitarian.
