L\u2019ouvrage\u00a0revient sur <em>un tournant spatial dans l\u2019art contemporain<\/em>, autant, au sein des pratiques de l\u2019art aujourd\u2019hui qu\u2019au sein du r\u00e9cit de l\u2019art et de son histoire.<br \/>\nAlors que la cartographie, en tant que discipline, a \u00e9t\u00e9 profond\u00e9ment imbriqu\u00e9e dans la production des r\u00e9cits de la modernit\u00e9, de la rationalit\u00e9 et du positivisme, mais aussi de l\u2019histoire du colonialisme et des r\u00e9cits nationaux, elle est devenue aujourd\u2019hui le lieu privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 de l\u2019invention de contre-pratiques et de contre-cartographies d\u2019artistes. Nourri de courants th\u00e9oriques tels que les pens\u00e9es post-coloniales et d\u00e9coloniales autant que la g\u00e9ographie radicale et critique, l\u2019ouvrage constitue un \u00e9tat des lieux des pens\u00e9es g\u00e9ographiques telles qu\u2019elles innervent le champ de l\u2019art, tout en s\u2019int\u00e9ressant \u00e9galement \u00e0 une nouvelle g\u00e9ographie de l\u2019art qui a \u00e9merg\u00e9 depuis la fin des ann\u00e9es 1980.<br \/>\nConstitu\u00e9 de contributions originales autant que de traductions de textes importants produits ces vingt derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, l\u2019ouvrage fait se conjoindre nouvelles m\u00e9thodologies de recherche et renouveau des cadres interpr\u00e9tatifs pour penser l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art \u00e0 partir du d\u00e9centrement et de l\u2019\u00e9mergence d\u2019une nouvelle g\u00e9ographie culturelle mondiale\u00a0 (pens\u00e9es de la mondialisation, histoire spatiale des arts, g\u00e9ohistoire ou g\u00e9ocritique des \u0153uvres).
