On September 17, 2026, they will present the program \u201c<strong>Andean Futurisms, Ancestral Futurities: Decolonizing Time<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The curatorial proposal begins with the following question: How can we decolonize time? Andean Futurisms, Ancestral Futurities respond to various forms of temporal extractivism. Or, how modernity has imposed a series of \u201cdebts of time\u201d and relegated non-Western territories and knowledge to the \u201cwaiting room of history.\u201d Andean Futurisms and Ancestral Futurities envision futures beyond extractivist and developmentist logics.<\/p>\n<p>The day will begin with Peruvian artist <strong>Alan Poma<\/strong>\u2019s lecture <strong>Revissando el Manifiesto Futurista Andino<\/strong>, in which he will examine the significance and evolution of the manifesto six years after its publication, exploring concepts such as Gamaliel Churata\u2019s camac, camaquen, and ahayu. Bolivian artist <strong>K\u2019ita Wichhu<\/strong> will present <strong>Andean Cyberpunk? Many of the questions that shaped this manifesto were already imbued with a decolonial experience, even though, at the time, I did not yet have the academic vocabulary to name it. Rather, they stemmed from my experience of moving back and forth between different cultural, technological, and geographic worlds, particularly between Peru and California.<\/p>\n<p>Six years later, the manifesto has evolved through encounters, collaborations, and artistic practices with others. Rereading it today, I conceive of Andean Futurism as a fundamentally relational practice: not as a fixed set of ideas belonging to a single artist, but as something that emerges from the relationships between people, territories, histories, technologies, and forms of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>This lecture aims to revisit the Andean Futurist Manifesto, not to explain what it proposed in 2019, but to reflect on what it has become and what it enables us to consider today. His work takes the form of audiovisual installations, performances, composition, and experimentation with contemporary technologies, weaving dialogues between historical avant-garde movements and Andean knowledge.<br \/>\nIn 2019, he published the Andean Futurist Manifesto with SOMA Press in Lima, thereby coining a term for a practice that seeks to imagine futures from Andean and decolonial perspectives. In 2023, he led the first seminar on Andean Futurism in the Art Department at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). His work has been exhibited in Lima, Huancayo, Mexico City, New York, and Los Angeles.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>5:45 p.m. \u2013 6:45 p.m. (Bogot\u00e1 time) K\u2019ita Wichhu &#8211; Hybrid Lecture &#8211; \u201cAndean Cyberpunk\u201d? She was a resident at Focco in 2024 in Chile, was invited to the \u201cApthapi\u201d photography festival in Peru in 2025, and was a finalist in the \u201cNuestra Mirada\u201d category of POY LATAM in 2025. She participated in \u201cAjayu Watan: Andean Futurism\u201d in 2026. Monoliths rose like stone achumas in the puna, and the Aymara epicenter became the taypi of the acolytes of Wiraccocha the Decapitator. Little by little, preparations are underway for the eradication of idolatry against the chained Santiago Mataindios, the tortured archangels Raphael and Saint Michael, as well as the virgins of Copacabana and Socav\u00f3n, who now don the garb of mourners. The atoms of the 20th century speak out. Everything returns from yesterday, even in the future. All the inhabitants of El Alto, in fervent adoration, raise a \u201cUka jacha uru jutaskiw\u201d toward the heavens.
